Sustained rapid growth demands innovation and improvement to succeed.  We’re looking for a Lean/Six Sigma leader to join our R&D team in an inaugural role to focus and drive continuous improvements and innovations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

As an R & D operations engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and improving R&D processes in technical and transactional applications, including multiple engineering disciplines accross our entire product portfolio.      

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify and implement process improvements for the product development cycle and use profile of our devices.
  • Effectively deploy LEAN/Six Sigma methods in the R&D to improve performance in systems and products.
  • Provide expertise in Six Sigma analytical/statistical tools to management, process owners, users, and key stakeholders on effectiveness of controls and recommend procedural changes.
  • Develop and maintain process maps for project and R&D process improvement efforts.
  • Develop and administer training on new processes, Quality, LEAN and assist with developing standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze business requirements and develop functional specifications for the Global Engineering department.
  • Manage and lead project work, provide status updates and deliverables.
  • Provide expertise in Six Sigma analytical/statistical tools to management, process owners, users, and key stakeholders on effectiveness of controls and recommend procedural changes.
  • Prioritize process improvement opportunities, and innovate and implement process improvements on platform or derivative projects.
  • Facilitate teams to drive consensus and change
  • Re-Engineer R&D processes to deliver higher quality and faster speed to market.
  • Benchmarking for best practices to drive continuous improvement in the R&D processes and our products.




Skills/Requirements

Job Qualifications:

 

  1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management or similar technical degree required.
  2. 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferable in the medical device industry.
  3. Significant experience in LEAN implementation and/or LEAN Certification with Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred.
  4. Experienced leading Kaizen events with quantifiable impact and improvements.
  5. Ability to multi-task/manage large project volume.
  6. Proficient with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  7. Demonstrated proficiency in Minitab (or similar), MS Visio and Project
  8. Knowledge of medical device industry, market trends, and regulatory environment preferred.
  9. Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.
  10. Must have strong analytical, time-management, problem-solving and decision making abilities.
