Job Description

Purpose
Under the direction of Gritts Store Manager
This position will be primarily a cashiering position, however a flexibility and willingness to jump in and help make sandwiches during lunch is essential. The cashier will enjoy working with a team that values continual improvement, productivity, flexibility and a happy and stress-free work environment.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.    Excellent Customer Service Skills.
2.    Teamwork and Communication skills.
3.    Maintain a high level of productivity without direct supervision.
4.    Adherence to department and company policies and procedures.
5.    Accuracy with accounting procedures. Is responsible for accurately handling customer transactions and for accounting for store inventory.
6.    Making Sandwiches, preparing ingredients cleaning and maintaining the deli.
7.    Travel: None

Interactions
1.    Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2.    Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management and other departments.
3.    Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2.  0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1.  Must be at least 21 years of age.
2.  Food Handler Permit, Tips Cert, Sheriff Work Card


Skills & Knowledge
Technical:    
Requires the ability to use a cash register and inventory gun. May be required to safely use and operate kitchen equipment e.g., knife, meat slicer, range cooker, food processor.
Ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures.

Administrative:    
Knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guests/customers.
Requires some exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval. May select solutions from a number of established courses of action.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1.  Specific Shift: Winter operating hours: 8am - 9pm.  Must be available to work holidays and weekends.

Mental:
1.  Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2.  May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2.  Must be able to carry trays and other items needed for service.
3.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
4.  Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
5.  Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings.  General office conditions prevail.  Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
