Job Description

Accruent's UX Designer will have passion and capabilities in designing engaging user experiences. They will also thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, paired with clear communication and team collaboration. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical and highly creative user-centric solutions. The candidate will also have experienced working in a fast-paced and lean/agile development environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with product management to design prototypes and create formal UX documentation and reports
  • Leverage user requirement specifications, including personas, scenarios, task analysis, flowcharts and organization and navigation models, detailed wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate the user experience and user interface elements
  • Participate in usability reviews of applications and produce test artifacts for usability
  • Work with Product Management to define the user model and interface for new and updated features and functionality
  •  Participate in research efforts to understand user needs such as heuristic reviews, web analytics and competitor evaluations to create forward-looking, usable and best in class new products. This also includes review of 3rd-party research (Forrester, etc.)
  • Represent and advocate for the user-centered perspective and serve as a resource throughout the organization by answering questions, facilitating decisions, sharing opinions and perspectives and suggesting new and innovative ideas
  • Collaborate on implementation of new user-interfaces and navigation to drive more efficient application workflow and improve the customer experience
  • Drive to a consistent user experience across all Accruent products
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that the solution is accurately translated to the final application
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of new technologies and best practices in website navigation, browsers, information architecture and usability.
  • Collaborate with UX team to produce and maintain standards in Pattern and Component Libraries

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience working independently and in teams.
  • Experience organizing and prioritizing work
  • Experience working on multiple projects and consistently deliver work on deadline.
  • Experience managing personal time and attention.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Visual, Interaction or User Experience Designer delivering enterprise software applications and/or complex transactional web-based experiences
  • Ability to understand current  programs, including CSS HTML, JavaScript, etc
  • Knowledge of user-centered design and prototyping
  • Proven ability to understand target users and design experiences appropriate for those users
  • Knowledge of design constraints such as browser capabilities, media types, framework/platform differences, and operating systems
  • Quick learner with solid organizational and prioritization skills to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly motivated, engaging, able to work effectively within a team environment, and will stretch to deliver results on time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work fluently in standard applications, including Adobe CS, InVision, MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related discipline

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience performing within a LEAN and/or Agile environment
  • Experience using Bootstrap/Ionic/Angular and/or other responsive frameworks or Sencha
  • Experience designing user interfaces for mobile applications (iOS, Android, Google, etc.)
  • Experience managing to multiple perspectives; desire to understand other people’s passions, experiences, and feelings.
  • Awareness and/or practice of ADA, 508, and W3C (AA) compliance standards and best practices
