This position is a player-coach role with dual responsbilities for leading and managing software test engineering staff within the US, and contributing to projects and programs as a senior test engineering individual contributor where needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Managerial Role:
Establish a culture of excellence in effective execution, continuous improvement, and communication across the software engineering organization
Work with assigned staff and engineers to identify, implement, train and institutionalize new infrastructure, methods, tools and best practices for software verification and validation
Adapt and expand agile and automated testing across different test activities
Oversee and review all software test deliverables to ensure conformance to FDA guidelines and quality
Develop and mentor assigned staff
Interview, hire, review and manage assigned staff
Maintain a safe operating environment
Lead Test Engineering Role:
Lead creation of plans, protocols and reports for different V&V projects
Interact closely with other members of the design team to define and develop tests and generate report results
Identify and recommend of appropriate test strategies
Design & develop of the test protocols
Design & develop test software or test simulators
Comply with the company’s quality system
Skills/Requirements
BS degree in electrical engineering or computer science (or equivalent in experience) required. MS preferred.
10 years experience in a software design assurance or quality assurance environment
3 years experience with medical device products
Prior experience in Agile software development environment
Prior experience in software automated testing
Experience in embedded software development or testing
Ability to Communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written)
Ability to exercise judgment methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Experience in algorithm-based product testing a plus
Experience with test simulator development a plus
Fundamental C++ & C programming skills a plus
