Job Responsibilities:
The Market Development Consultant is responsible for developing relationships with hospitals and physicians with the goal of assisting in market growth for the Impella product line. The Market Development Consultant will address issues within the hospital and physician practice setting such as reimbursement and cost effectiveness as well as market growth challenges. The Market Development Consultant will assist hospitals in utilization of tools provided by Abiomed to develop strategies to grow their patient base, referral networks and program strength. The Market Development Consultant will serve as a resource to Abiomed’s hospital and physician clients as well as field based teams. Analysis of key customer needs including market opportunity education, development and implementation of tools to assist customers in achieving market growth, coding (ICD-9, DRG, and CPT), claims denials, procedural documentation, and quarterly business reviews with hospital and physician group reimbursement teams.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work directly with hospitals and physicians to evaluate market growth opportunities.

Facilitate referral networking programs for physicians and hospitals regarding program development.

Provide guidance to facilities to further develop the Protected PCI program using developed tools.

Eliminate reimbursement and cost effectiveness issues through education and follow up.

Develop tracking, reporting, and analysis systems for internal reimbursement programs such as new initiatives, training, and problem reports.

Develop effective communication materials that clearly explain market opportunities and options to customers.

Provide regular and message consistent follow up to all customers.
Support sales and clinical teams as needed.
