Job Description

Purpose
Under the direction of the store manager, assist in the operation of Center Sundries, a busy store in the Snowbird Center selling snacks, gifts, over-the-counter and pharmacy dispensed medical products and a US Postal Service office.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.    Supervise daily operations of the store.
2.    Ensure shop consistently delivers excellent customer service.
3.    Assist manager in inventory management and product merchandising.
4.    Assist manager in employee management.
5.    Assists manager in running the Snowbird branch of the US Postal Service.
6.    Assist manager in other areas of running the business.
7.    Lead by example in all areas of job expectations.
8.    Travel: Occasional travel to/from resort.

Interactions
1.    Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2.    Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, other departments.
3.    Direct and continuous contact with product vendors and the US Postal Service.
4.    Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1.  Associates degree in related field preferred. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
2.  1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1  Must be at least 21 years of age.



Skills & Knowledge
Technical:    
Familiar with POS and computer functions. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Xstore, WinRetail, Excel, Word, Outlook, Kronos and other business applications.
Reading, writing and arithmetic with accuracy, including the ability to understand inventory reports and research accounting discrepancies.


Administrative:    
Work with a degree of autonomy.
Exercise judgment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
High degree of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a stress-related environment.


Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1.  Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
2.  Specific Shift: Store hours vary, depending on the season and special events, anywhere between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Mental:
1.  Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2.  May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3.  Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
4.  Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings.  General office conditions prevail.  
5.  Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
