Job Description

 

All job opportunities at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort require the ability to comply with our Professional Appearance, Drug & Alcohol, and Employee Conduct Policies.

Purpose
Under the direction of Activities Center Manager.   
Activity Center Staff take reservations, process sales, liability forms, and organize information for programs presented by Snowbird Activities Center, Ski Patrol, Mountain School, Mt. Operations, Camp Snowbird, and Entertainment and Special Events.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Use of phone, email, and face to face interaction dealing with questions regarding Snowbird Activities.
2. Registration for participation in various activities, liability forms signed, equipment rental, and occasional guide.
3. Cash register use to collect fees for various activities.
4. Process gift cards, assist with retail sales, merchandise information, opening and closing, store upkeep and also up keep of Wasatch Gemstone Mine.
5. Facilitate in organizing and setting up activities including: hiking, horseback riding, and snowshoe tours.


Interactions
1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Occasional contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2.  6 months of  work experience with demonstrated competence in customer service.

Specific Requirements:
1.  Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills & Knowledge

Knowledge about everything Snowbird has to offer. Cash register (Micros), and answer emails and phone calls.
Ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures.

Administrative:    
Knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guest/customers.
Self -management, decision making, organizing and planning, multi-tasking, etc.
 

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1.  Shifts will be 5-8hrs.  They vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
Mental:
1.  May experience unusual stress from continual work with public.

Physical:
1.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
2.  Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
3.  Work is sometimes outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.
4.  Must be able to lift 60lbs. and shovel dirt.
