This position presents a preliminary opportunity towards acquiring expertise in various areas of Software Testing and Quality Assurance Development within the Menards IS Department. This position works closely with Application Developers and Project Managers to ensure test scripts accurately test project and application requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in writing manual test cases based on requirement specifications for project and maintenance testing.
Assist in executing manual test cases and tracking any defects found during test execution.
Assist in the development of automated functional and load test scripts.
Execute automated test cases and document test results using Selenium, Neoload, HP LoadRunner and HP Quick Test Pro.
Use Rational Quality Manager in support of the testing life cycle management.
Provide support for testing approaches and automated script execution throughout the QA life cycle.
Other:
Assist in maintaining the QA Test environment configuration.
Assist in maintaining standards and processes for testing procedures and best practice.
Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills/Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Programming or MIS related field and is within three semesters of graduation.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Highly detail oriented
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Basic understanding of “Blackbox” testing
Must have strong understanding of the application development process and testing life cycle.
Experience using IT development technologies, such as PHP, MySQL, VBScript, JavaScript, Java.
Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel
This position requires 15-20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., including Saturdays as needed.
