This position is responsible for the design and creation of site plans, architectural, structural, and utility plans for Menard commercial warehouse and office buildings. The Senior CAD Designer will be required to establish and maintain project schedules and meet deadlines for multiple drafting projects. The Senior CAD Designer will oversee all CAD Designers in the Menard Distribution Center Planning and Construction department to stay up to date with their progress.
Design and creation of facilities layouts including:
Organization and preparation of construction CAD drawings for distribution, warehouse and manufacturing buildings, office layouts, site development, grading plans, and utilities.
Material Handling Systems including: conveyor, pallet rack storage systems, machinery & equipment layouts.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Oversee all CAD Designers
Stay up-to-date on all issues, updates, and progress of all projects.
Maintain CAD drafting project schedules.
Skills/Requirements
2 Year Associates Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural AutoCAD or equivalent degree.
At least 3 years of experience in a CAD Designer or similar position.
Ability to communicate effectively with Management.
Must be self-motivated and have a strong drive for results.
Hours Expectation of 45+/- hours/week.
Thoroughly understanding of CAD programs
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Leadership abilities and Detail Orientated
Communication skills
Mechanical design and some construction /design related work experience are preferred, but not required
