Job Description

Will lead rapid scale-up of fast past growth business.  Will instruct others in continuous improvement tools and principles, and develop and update instructional materials. Seek out new lean tools and techniques. Tailor message to specific audience level. Mentor other instructors and continuous improvement leaders in the business. Guide the effective application and integration of LEAN implementation. Lead and facilitate complex and high visibility process improvement efforts and Kaizen events. Apply and integrate improvement processes and tools across the extended enterprise including supply chain. Lead the development of new improvement tools. Benchmark best practices and interface with outside entities regarding lean knowledge sharing.  

Furthermore, candidate will also lead and contribute to Manufacturing development and scale-up by managing production related projects or technical activities.  Therefore, the candidate must be able delegate without authority while holding others accountable to keep projects on track.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply and teach Lean philosophy and tools
  • Drive continuous improvement in both German and US Manufacturing facilities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and effectively function in a supportive/constructive role
  • Interface and effectively facilitate with members at all levels in the organization, including senior leadership 
  • Facilitate project management lean events, including rapid improvement, Kaizen, value stream mapping, brainstorming/gap analysis sessions, and projects
  • Provide training in areas of lean methodology and act as the key driver of change within the business units
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within supply chain, manufacturing, and office environments then implement tactical plan to realize improvements
  • Promote Lean concepts and function as an effective change agent throughout the organization
  • Develop detailed project plan using Microsoft Project.
  • Chair project team meetings/maintain minutes and action items.
  • Independently complete small projects and/or project tasks on larger projects
  • Publish program reports (Scorecards). Prepare internal and external reports without direct supervision.
  • Resulting work output is consistent with quality targets




Skills/Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical/engineering, operations management, business or related discipline, MBA or MS desired.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience that includes project and/or operations management
  • 5+ years of hands-on Lean/Six Sigma implementation experience
  • Experience leading the application of Lean philosophy and tools, to include the facilitation of events
  • Formal Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt training preferred; 
  • Domestic and international travel will  be required
