Job Description

ABIOMED is looking for a Regional Clinical Manager to lead the strategic and tactical operations of our field clinical consultant team in the Western US Region. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales for the Central Region, this person will ensure the achievement of business results within the Central Region and must have the highest regard for patient care.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manages the daily operations of the regional Clinical Consultant workforce.
  • Provides support and direction regarding operational functions, the development of best practice protocols, and acts as a liaison on implementation of new clinical initiatives.
  • Provides support to ABIOMED’s expanding clinical footprint including the Impella product line.
  • Plans, organizes and implements clinical programs according to scheduled timeframes and within established budgets.
  • Recruits and hires outstanding team members who are aligned technically and culturally within ABIOMED.
  • Assists with delivery of new employee orientation programs for clinical personnel, and contributes to the development, maintenance and communication of educational programs as required.
  • Possesses significant and current and clinical knowledge of technology and clinical practices and protocols within the cardiology and cardiac surgery arena.
  • Represents ABIOMED with highest commitment to honesty and integrity with patients, customers, and employees.
  • Facilitates change and serves as a role model in adapting to and implementing ABIOMED’s change management philosophies, and supports and facilitates a positive approach to change among team members.

Skills/Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing or other related clinical field required.
  • Masters Degree in Business or Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in a cardiac surgery or cath lab clinical environment with a minimum of five years of progressive employee supervisory/management experience.
  • Prior medical device industry experience coupled with the clinical background required.
  • Candidate must reside within the region.
  • Computer literacy including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel 25 – 30% of the time to meet with field team and with customers
