As an Electrical Engineer, you will conduct and document detailed root cause failure investigations and develop/implement product improvements.
You will also provide Engineering support to existing product lines, working closely with our production team and supplier base.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Using a methodical approach, address internal and external complaints by determining and documenting root cause and implement corrective actions under direction of senior staff.
Work with and support mechanical, systems, software, and manufacturing engineering as required.
Support sustaining engineering efforts, in close team work with the Supplier and Manufacturing Engineering groups, by the timely disposition of non-conforming material and resolve producibility issues with internal and external manufacturing partners.
Provide status updates to Program Managers as required.
Identify and effectively manage critical issues.
Assist in writing test protocols and reports for process/design changes on existing product lines.
Contribute to test methods and conduct characterization and engineering pre-verification testing.
Skills/Requirements
Job Qualifications
BS in electrical/electronics engineering required, MS desired
5 years of related work experience desired. Medical device product development experience strongly preferred.
Detailed, methodical approach to failure investigations.
Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.
Able to prioritize tasks.
Hands-on electrical circuit test and troubleshooting experience of analog, digital, and mixed signal systems.
Thorough knowledge of digital and analog electronics required.
CPLD and FPGA design knowledge desired.
Electromechanical design experience desired.
Ability to Communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) within the internal project team
Integration of custom circuitry to embedded PC systems and subcomponents desired
Fluent with electrical design software tools (Orcad schematic capture and PCB layout)
Knowledge of medical device agency approval requirements desired (EMI, EMC, etc.).
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of SAP desired.
