Job Description

Purpose
Under the direction of the Director of Camp Snowbird responsible for the care of infants aged 6 weeks to 3 years. Involved in feeding, changing, teaching, entertaining, and loving the infants and toddlers.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Responsible for generating a happy, creative learning environment.
2. Maintain the cleanliness of the environment at Camp.
3. Responsible for food preparation, serving, and clean-up on a rotating basis.
4. Complete necessary assignments given by manager or supervisor.
5. Supervise outdoor playtime.
6. ENJOY THE CHILDREN AND HAVE A GOOD TIME!
7. Travel: None

Interactions
1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1.   High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2.   6 months involvement with a Day Care program or Home Care experience.

Child Development coursework and certifications preferred.

Specific Requirements:
1.   Must be at least 18 years of age.
2.   Requires submission to a criminal background check.
3.   Child Care Food Handler Permit & TB Test

Skills & Knowledge
Technical: 
Uses children’s toys to entertain, arts and crafts supplies, cleaning supplies, and commercial vacuum.

Administrative: 
Must self-direct within given job parameters or offer routine guidance to others in equivalent position.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1.   Specific Shift: 8:00am to 5:00pm any day of the week depending on business levels.

Mental:
1.   Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Other/Additional:  Duties frequently complicated by situations impossible to predict and from dealing with children from different backgrounds and temperaments.
