Job Description

Art Director

The Art Director leads the creative team’s production of strategic and innovative web and mobile design. S/he will also have the opportunity to collaborate with our marketing and product design teams to enhance and elevate our campaigns and product-level merchandising. Candidates should be ready to roll up their sleeves and get involved in everything we do, from digital marketing and promotional material, to banner ads and website assets to social media channels and content.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and contribute to the design of all collateral for email, website, mobile, and social media campaigns that feature product from Fab’s retail verticals.
  • Work closely with Editorial, Photography and Marketing departments to cohesively and intelligently position product visually in line with best merchandising practices.
  • Project manage the photo retouching, cropping, and uploading up to 500 individual product images per week in Fab’s user-friendly CMS. A successful candidate will be proactive in communicating with our design team, retail department and external suppliers to manage and launch images.
  • Guide the creative team to ensure continuity of design and shared assets.
  • Manage organization and processes for the team.
  • Scout and share design and marketing innovations from others in the industry and around the web.




Skills/Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Four (4) to six (6) years in digital and print design, art or related field
  • Highly motivated and driven, with a passion for graphic design with strong creative design and typographical skills.
  • Background in retail is highly desired.
  • Ability to multitask, juggle multiple projects with varying timelines and work within a fast-paced newsroom-style environment.
  • Some weekend work may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and the Mac OS X operating system.
  • Comfortable with CMS publishing.
  • Ability to see a job to completion, from concept and brainstorming to design and production and file delivery.
  • Ability to maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple projects, working well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong leader and good communicator
  • Knowledge of Flash, HTML and web publishing, email service providers and/or desktop and mobile optimization principles a plus
