As a CAD Designer, you are responsible the design and preparation of Distribution facility layouts. You will use CAD equipment to provide support to engineers by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. You will create details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture, make copies of drawings, and maintain information regarding changes to database. You must have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
Use computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD) equipment and software to develop designs
Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
Make final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
Sketch rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and location of holes
Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Draft detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products
Draw finished designs from sketches
Update Drafting and Engineering Standards
Set-up and maintain an organized file system for production drawings
Communicate with tooling, QA, engineering and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints
Skills/Requirements
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Drafting Technology, Marketing Logistics, Civil Engineering, Structural or Architectural Drafting or related field of study
Experience using AutoCAD, Excel, and Adobe
Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate; as well as foster a team-orientated and collaborative environment
Must work within designated normal office hours - Monday-Friday, 50 hours/week - at the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI (remote work is not offered)
