Job Description

Snowbird is looking for an Assistant Manager at our flagship restaurant. The recently renovated Aerie features a Cafe Lounge - Sushi Bar - Main Dining Room, Private Function Space and award winning wine cellar. We are looking for experienced managers willing to take on a new challenge. This is year round salary level position, pay is dependent on skill set and experience.  

PAY: D.O.E. + 10% bonus potential.  Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays.

Purpose
Under the direction of the General Manager, provide quality food and beverage services and provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations in order to increase revenues and decrease costs.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Reports to work on time in the proper uniform.  Obeys all company rules and regulations.
2. Assists Manager in providing directional flow of restaurant, plan supervise all work done by dining room employee order to meet guest expectations.
3. Works with Manager to recommend promotions transfer or termination of employees based on performance evaluation in order to improve staff performance, guest services, and business objectives.
4. Ensures all guest needs are met during the course of the meal in order to achieve a positive dining experience for the guest.
5. Responsible for all financial transactions occurring within the operation, in order to assure accuracy and integrity of process.  Maintain daily records including revenues and payroll and completes nightly reports in order to accurately report.
6. Ensures standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis.  Maintains good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the property.  Follows state policies and regulations for serving alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. All in order to provide quality great service and meet business objectives.
7. Travel: Occasional travel to/from resort.

1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in related field desireable.  Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
• 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Food Handler Permit, Tips Cert, Sheriff Work Card, UDABC Check

Skills & Knowledge
Technical: 
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including excellent guest service, listening and oral communication skills, also conflict management and dispute resolution skills.  Must demonstrate competency in reading, writing and arithmetic with accuracy in counting, adding subtracting, multiplying dividing.  Ability to learn menus, wine lists and display extensive knowledge in wine.  Proficiency in handling large sums of money.  Must direct staff activities and address guest issues while maintaining interactions between the dining room the kitchen and the bar. Strong level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Administrative: 
Requires judgment within policy guidelines and initiation of activities within job description and responsibility limitations.  Understanding other Snowbird operations is essential.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
• Specific shift: 2 p.m. to close.  Rotating schedule based on business levels, including early morning, late evening, weekends and holidays.

Mental:
• Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
• May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
