Job Description

Hem is currently looking for a Textile Designer for our Stockholm office. The principle tasks will involve design of textiles project, project management, guidance and management of external design competence, colors and materials research. Contribute to product development from specs to lab dip and sample approvals.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the rest of the design team and global creative director on maintaining a strong sense of Hem design aesthetic throughout the design of all products.
  • Create colorways, layouts, and textile repeats using appropriate programs and tools. Initiate additional design suggestions specific categories including wovens, prints, and quilts. Initiate product specification packages.
  • Create thematic concept boards, initiate and direct original design concepts according to merchandise plans and schedules including: rendering textile repeats and colorways, compiling references and providing samples, where applicable.

 
Skills/Requirements

Profile:

  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelors Degree in Textile Design
  • Initiated knowledge on textile design tradition
  • 3 years experience in textile design for Home Furnishings
  • Proficient in printed textile CAD software, including Photoshop and Illustrator 
  • Strong repeat and technical knowledge 
  • Excellent color sense and color matching skills 
  • Aesthetically keen eye for design
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
