Job Description

Hem, a Fab.com company, is seeking Manager Operations for our Berlin office.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for KPI implementation, managing different departments, helping and creating organizational programs and budgets in collaboration with the SVP Operations and other miscellaneous tasks. Reporting to the SVP Operations this position's primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organization's operational functions.

Working with the Management Team in Berlin, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. This position will also interact with outside entities like Production Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the operational systems and processes in support of organizations mission - specifically, support better management reporting, information flow, business process and organizational planning.
  • Attain transparency for production facilities
  • Introducing and maintaining KPIs throughout Supply Chain.
  • Supporting vertical backward Supply Chain integration
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared towards operational excellence.
  • Development of individual program budgets together with department heads (Direct Deliveries, Centralized Buying Program, Centralized CAD preparation, etc...)

 

Responsibilities by Function

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Oversee short and long-term financial and KPI based managerial reporting.
  • Producing reports as requested.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Manage functions
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services through improvements to each function (Producer Relations, Sales Support Service, Logistics, 2nd level Customer Support) as well as coordination and communication between functions.
  • Drive initiatives in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence.

Organizational Leadership

  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as an interfacing function between the teams based in Berlin and Warsaw

Risk Management

  • Serve as primary contact to legal counsel in addressing producer relations matters
  • Oversee organizational insurance policies (Transportation, Production) and work accordingly with Fab.com Inc.

Quality Management

  • Oversee QA operations and involvement in strategy planning
  • Establish infrastructure for standardization and scalability
  • Devise/Implement report/execution tools that address scalability needs

 





Skills/Requirements

Requirements & Skills

  • At least 3 years experience in Operations Management / Process Management
  • Strong background and work experience in Business Administration
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office / Google products
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English required
  • German is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices
  • Implement Key Performance Indicators into Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing large projects across multi national teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Budget development and oversight experience
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace environment
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment that operates internationally
