Job Description

Hem, a Fab.com company, is seeking Vice President Product for our Berlin office.

Responsibilities

  • Run an international Product Development team of 10 Product Managers & UX Designers across multiple continents alongside an experienced and acclaimed Engineering team.
  • Own the product roadmap and work closely with our CTO for prioritization and implementation of new features
  • Lead design and engineering teams to develop innovative and breakthrough solutions to design and logic challenges with constraints on cost, quality and performance
  • Help, challenge and develop Product Managers in the areas of Operations, CMS, Customer Facing features, Sales & Marketing and BI
  • Implement and lead a unified product development process from consumer insights through to launch and post-launch product improvements by managing internal and external resources
  • Plan and deliver product designs which meet specified performance and cost criteria within development budget and timetable
  • Select, manage and maintain relationships with high quality, professional service providers
  • Work together with the senior management team in executing the company strategy

 
Skills/Requirements

Requirements & Skills

  • Extensive experience in running a product team (+3 years minimum in a management role)
  • Strong expertise in Product Development (+5 years experience minimum)
  • Strong technical product management skills. Experience in operations, back end technology, systems, and developing technology to solve complex process problems is a plus.
  • Demonstrable track record of product success. You’ve shipped it. You’ve shown market traction.
  • Understanding software developers and speaking their language is critical.
  • Experience working across different continents
  • Solid experience in process management with the nurturing of a creative environment that encourages new ideas and innovation
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in coaching and developing product managers
  • Structured and analytical approach to decision making and solution oriented mindset
  • Experience leading dynamic brainstorming sessions
  • Highly entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Very hands-on in defining objectives and producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Experience in small business/startup experience and/or furniture background is a plus
  • Masters Degree is a plus
