Ticket Software Application Specialist

PAY: dependent on experience

This is a year round salary level position.

Purpose
Under the direction of the Director of Tickets. The ticket systems and applications manager has the overall responsibility for coordinating backend systems and frontline systems as well as the overall setup of Siriusware for tickets, activity center, rentals and summer activities. All upgrades and software additions performed and tested on a timely basis. Hardware and software purchased and implemented. Other areas of resposibility include database creation and management, accounting/revenue recognition management, reporting, product creation/testing and some training. Areas of responsibility include front line ticket sales, season ticket/pass sales, scanning, mountain school systems, rental systems and all areas using  Siriusware. Additonal duties include creation and maintenance of various program databases which may include interfacing with other resorts and their reporting systems. The creation of Siriusware website, portals for group sales, as well as maintenance of the accounting reporting interface between Siriusware and our accounting  systems.  
    

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Ticket/Pass creation, setup-design-testing.
2. Trouble-shoot equipment and software issues
3. Creation and maitenance of external databases including some linkages to other resorts. Reporting
4. Creation and maintenance of portals for group sales and electronic will call.
5. Accurate accounting reporting and interfacing.
6. Report generaion using SQL Management studio, Crystal Reports and Excel.
7. Periodically assist in all areas of the ticket office, providing excellent customer service.
8. Personel Managment, supervision of the application specialist.

Interactions
1. Occasional contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
4. This position has a moderate degree of personnel and management contact, requiring constant communication with upper and lower management. This position requires a high level of communication many departments including Marketing, IT, Accounting, Mountain School, Rentals, Ecommerce and Mountain Operations.
5. This position requires periodic contact with other companies and organizaions. UTA, Ski Utah, Ski Salt Lake, Alta Ski Resort, Siriusware and various supply vendors are a few of the companies that require a good working relationship.
6. As a salaried management position, the Ticket Systems and Applications manager may be responsible for supervising up to 30 employees including supervisors and cashiers.

Education & Experience Requirements
1.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2.  College degree in related field preferred.  Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
3.  2 years experience in related field.

Specific Requirements:
1.  Must be able to ski or snowboard and have the ability to pass a physical capacity screening.
2.  Experience working with Siriusware ticket system


Skills & Knowledge
Technical:  SQL, MySQL, Java, PHP,  ASPX, and SQL Report Writing. Siriusware website ecommerce creation and maintenance, HTML, SQL Reports, SQL Management Studio. The Manager must be well trained in Excel, Word and have a high level of overall computer skills. Trouble-shooting software issues is a large part of this postion.The Manager also helps during peak season to sell season passes,  take photos, print season passes, and sell daily tickets. Project management experience is a plus. Attending the yearly Siriusware conference for Siriusware systems training is mandatory.
 

Administrative:
This position requires a high degree of self management, project coordination, scheduling, and followup for all areas of responsibility.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1.  Must be available 5-6 days per week, any day, Sunday through Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM, overtime is expected, snownights, late night, and early mornings. Weekend and holiday work required. Average hours per week 40+.

Mental:
1. This postion involves stressful situations in dealing with customers and employee relations. Must be able to multitask and handle critical systems failures in fast paced environment. A high degree of problem solving is envolved for this postion. The systems manager must be able to work in a fast paced environment and must be able to think quickly and resolve problems in stressful situations.  

Physical:
1. The office work environment is located in the mountains at high altitude. Temperatures range from very warm in the Summer to cold in the Winter. The office can be noisy due to nearby equipment and the high frequency of customer interaction. The systems director must be able to get from one sales location to another  quickly, in order to handle cashier and equipment problems. Job tasks may include the lifting of weight up to 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods of time at scanning locations.

Travel:
1.  Must have reliable transportation or access to UTA. Employement is located at the Snowbird Center at the Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. Must be able to travel to the resort within an hours notice late night or early morning due to road conditions. Roads may require 4X4 vehicles. This position requires the ability to drive to meetings in locations other than Snowbird
