Job Description

Shady Grove Fertility Center is America’s largest and most progressive fertility center performing over 6,000 IVF cycles, including over 1,000 egg donation cycles, and an equal number of ovulation induction and IUI cycles annually. Twenty-nine reproductive endocrinologists as well as PhD scientists and over 500 highly specialized staff care for patients in 17 full-service offices and 4 satellite locations throughout the Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington, DC metropolitan areas. We offer a comprehensive range of fertility treatment options including Ovulation Induction, IUI, IVF, and Donor Egg as well as resources to comprehensively address patients’ needs - medical, emotional, and financial.  The work we do, changing peoples' lives and building families, offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward.

We have an opening for a Medical Assistant to join the Ambulatory Surgery Center Team at our Rockville office. This is a part- time position working every Saturday from 7 am to 4 pm. 

This position is responsible for assisting as scrub technician in the OR, knowledgeable of proper sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipment, plan for and prepares rooms for all procedures and ensure necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are available, demonstrate knowledge and technical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure, clean and care for all equipment according to OSHA guidelines, use autoclave and clean per protocol, provide ultrasound guidance under physician’s supervision during transfers and comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support.



 





Skills/Requirements

Prior experience in an OR / Ambulatory Surgical setting, a background in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) required; phlebotomy skills a plus. Infertility/IVF experience preferred. The successful candidate will possess a strong patient orientation, excellent customer service skills, and ability to function as part of a team. Computer skills and a graduate of a formal Medical Assistant program a must.
