We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Product Development Manager to build and lead expanding our product assortment. This position will be responsible for rapidly expanding Fab's product portfolio including producing products in several new product categories in the coming years. The position requires experience managing front-end technology engineers and designers working with EU-based operations and production engineering teams. Success requires working with the marketing and the sales teams to derive key insights and marketing specifications from our consumers, and translate those along with Fab's EU operations, procurement, and production team into customizable, affordable and high quality consumer product innovations for the base of the our pyramid. 

This position is based in Berlin but works across Europe with a multi-cultural and dedicated team of furniture experts.

Responsibilities ♥

• Implement and lead a unified product development process by managing internal and external resources, across countries and functions, from consumer insights through to launch and post-launch product improvements 
• Lead design and engineering teams to develop innovative and breakthrough solutions to design challenges with constraints on cost, quality and performance 
• Plan and deliver product designs which meet specified performance and cost criteria within development budget and timetable
• Select, manage and maintain relationships with high quality, professional service providers 
• Assist the senior management team in executing the company strategy
• Create, in coordination with sales, marketing, and executive, Fab furniture technology and product road map

Profile ♥

• Masters degree + 3 years experience minimum 
• Solid experience in directing a creative product development team, combining process management with the nurturing of a creative environment that encourages new ideas and innovation 
• Experience leading dynamic brainstorming sessions 
• Highly entrepreneurial self-starter and manager/coach.
• Very hands-on in defining objectives and producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment 
• Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle, including product briefing, conceptual crafting, patent assessment, product line development, costing, prototyping, spec development, DFM and overseas manufacturing 
• Strong blend of analytical, decision-making and creative problem solving skills 
• Excellent written and verbal English communication 
• Experience in small business/startup experience and/or furniture background would be a plus
