Fab is looking for a Soft Goods Buyer who will build and maintain strong vendor relationships within the Home Décor, bedding, bath, rugs, decorative pillow space. This is an amazing opportunity for a talented professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, expert knowledge of style trends, and superb buying experience in Soft Goods. The ideal candidate will have deep experience and an interest these areas and be positive, detail oriented, enthusiastic, and organized.
The Fab Buyer must be able to:
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
Negotiate buying terms with vendors ensuring all deals are in line with company margin goals
Create sales planning strategies and objectives to reach revenue goals
Analyze retail financials, reports, metrics, etc.
Research and understand market trends and style forecasting
Go on buying trips and attend industry tradeshows on a regular basis to find and secure merchandise
Review PO’s and held accountable for financial goals related to margin, inventory turn, sell thru percentages, etc.
Follow up on discrepancies with vendors
Creating sales planning strategy and objectives to reach revenue goals
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Strong organization skills
5 years of experience in home décor/ bedding, bath, rugs, or decorative accessories area.
Established strong relationships with major home decor brands is a must
Knowledge of sourcing, and private label buying preferred
Deep understanding of retail financials, reports, metrics, etc.
Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility and ability to re-prioritize and respond to changing demands
Resourceful and able to research problems and recommend solutions
Numerical and analytical ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Independent, self-motivated team player
Trend and industry awareness - understands current trends, competition and market
Strong computer skills – proficient in Excel and Word are a must
