Job Description
Kiwi Partners seeks a self-starter and inquisitive person who is studying Human Resources and will offer new perspectives to our clients' HR processes.  You will be part of a team of 4 providing human resources consulting to non-profits in the NYC metro area.  This is a 6 month paid internship ($12/hour) with potential for hire.
 
** Please note that we are looking for someone to begin the internship in late September 2014.  This person will need to be located in the NYC metro area at this time and for the duration of the internship. **
 
The HR Intern can expect to gain the following experience/skills/knowledge while interning for Kiwi Partners:
 
Employee file maintenance, including legal documentation and filing requirements
HR department auditing
Developing and updating HR documentation (policies, checklists, manuals)
Streamlining and systematizing HR processes
Insight on how a new line of business is created within a company
The importance of HR in creating a new line of business
Various facets of  non-profit operations
 
Duties:
Perform general research and analysis on various projects
Schedule pre-screenings, coordinate interviews, and communicate with candidates
Proofread and provide content suggestions for HR documentation
Provide general clerical support, plus other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with an interest in Human Resources, or non-profit management/administrative fields
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
  • Ability to write and present in a polished and professional manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have highest standard of organization and attention to detail
  • Must be available 14 hours/week
  • Previous work/internship experience in HR and/or the non-profit sector is desirable but not necessary

Schedule: 9am-5pm, 2 days/week (exact days TBD)

Physical Demand:  Required to walk to and from main office to clients' offices.  Required to carry a laptop and files to and from clients' offices.

Compensation: $12/hour
