Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) seeks an experienced Technical Leader to spearhead the expansion of our Western region’s Engineering Program, implement key business development initiatives, and provide senior level technical oversight to engineering and environmental remediation projects.
Our selected candidate will have an opportunity to grow our environmental remediation business by leveraging innovative remediation resources and technologies.
Extensive soil and groundwater remediation experience and related client relationships are required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Serves as the Western Region’s Engineering Program Manager and is responsible for primary technical oversight of the Western region’s engineering/remediation projects.
Manages the development, negotiation, and administration of engineering/remediation related contracts for our Western region.
Builds a team of experienced professionals to address engineering/remediation needs across the Western region.
Assists with the evaluation of the western region’s engineering/remediation program, i.e. situational analysis, opportunities, and action plan. This includes incorporating GES’ innovative remediation tools and technologies (see www.max-ox.com ).
Collaborates with key Operations personnel in the western region to evaluate engineering/remediation opportunities.
Conducts sales presentations and informational seminars for potential clients.
Identifies and tracks market trends and performs competitor research and analysis.
Participates in all aspects of bid and proposal preparation.
Attends industry related conferences, exhibitions, associations, and functions.
Generates leads and develops new business opportunities through networking.
Serves as the technical expert to support the engineering needs of all offices within the western region.
Provides senior review and approval to engineering design, documents, and deliverables for projects within the western region.
Gives senior direction to remedial feasibility testing oversight, scope development, implementation, and evaluation for projects within the western region.
Provides direction on personnel oversight, regulatory/policy compliance, and final review and approval to documents/contracts, and engineering certification sign off, as needed.
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering and a Professional Civil Engineer Certification for California is required
15+ years of engineering experience in an environmental consulting environment
5+ years of business development experience. Business Development Experience should include: leverage industry network and client relationships to generate leads, create proposals, conduct sales presentations, and meet revenue goals
Candidates with significant client relationships preferred
Established relationships with regulatory authorities and representatives of petroleum and industrial companies are required
