The Account Manager’s role is to ensure achievement of revenue objectives for RainDance Technologies capital equipment and reagent products within the assigned geographic region. This position will have front line sales responsibilities for Top Tier Commercial and Academic accounts. The Account Manager will be responsible for driving sales through both strategic and tactical activities, providing regular reports on the status of specific sales and competitor activities within the region. This role will also have responsibilities in developing and driving strategic initiatives to better address the needs of the customers in our markets. Achievement of sales quota. Provides regular and accurate sales forecast updates.
Develops and implements a full Business Plan for their district including analysis of market segmentation, market sizing, and segment entry strategy recommendations.
Develops high value customer accounts, builds key relationships within industry, and leads team to drive sales of RainDance platforms and reagents.
Involved in the development of customer facing sales tools including presentations and product literature.
Helps guide negotiations with service providers.
Represents the company professionally, ethically and morally at all times. Verifies that in-process and finished product are compliant with policy and meet product test requirements.
Maintains an effective, professional working relationship with internal product development groups.
Helps recommend, specify, and launch future RainDance products to our markets.
Assists in the design of marketing and promotional materials for the genetic analysis business.
Assists, as directed, with other business development activities.
Other tasks as reasonably requested.
75% travel will be required as part of this job.
Position is located in NYC Region.
BS, MS degree and/or PhD in Life Sciences. PhD strongly desired.
5+ years of direct hands-on work experience within the industry (e.g. Genomics Technology Platforms, Microarrays, DNA sequencers). Strong technical background in both molecular biology/genomics and DNA sequencing applications is required.
3 to 5 years of experience in Life Science sales or a related area (marketing, business development, or other position with commercial/revenue responsibility) with strong knowledge of Genomics Market, with established relationships with key thought leaders. Excellent “C” level selling skills.
Highly motivated and successful individual who enjoys a challenging and dynamic work environment. Possesses a strong desire to win business and establish long term customer relationships.
Well developed professional and strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts through networking at all levels within the customer organization. Strong time and territory management capabilities.
