Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks an Instructor to assist in the Electronics Technology department.

The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate practical techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for each of the courses offered.

Duties of the instructor include using discipline appropriate teaching and assessment techniques in classroom, laboratory, and online settings; maintaining student records; advising students regarding program requirements and career goals; participating in college recruitment and retention efforts; and assisting the program chair as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

The competitive applicant will have at least the following:  A Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology from a regionally accredited Public or Private institution and considerable recent experience in the electronics industry (at least three years within the past seven); and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

The desired candidate will have an extensive amount of electronics knowledge including solid-state devices, digital systems, linear devices, microprocessors and power electronics ; some teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level; and active participation in appropriate professional and occupational organizations.
