Job Description

We are looking for dynamic instructors to teach in our Master of Management Information Systems program. This program blends academic theory with a practical hands-on experience that is designed to enhance a student’s ability to create and manage information systems, processes, and services that give organizations a competitive edge. Our instructors have a passion for helping the development of our students in a professional atmosphere. Instructors understanding how to generate new knowledge through application of student academic and work experiences will provide the best learning environment for our students. Instructors must exhibit excellent people skills, a working knowledge of technology, a respect for student learning in a cohort model, a willingness to learn, and support of Friends University policies and procedures.

The Information Security and Policy Development class is the study of information system security and privacy and policy issues. This course provides the foundation for understanding the key issues associated with protecting information assets, determining the levels of protection and response to security incidents, and designing a consistent, reasonable information security system, with appropriate intrusion detection and reporting features. Areas emphasized include current issues, future directions, and research activities related to information security, risk management, and privacy policy topics.

Instructors are expected to maintain communication with the MMMIS Program Director, Administrative Assistants, and students through email and telephone. Instructors will be provided a textbook and a course syllabus, but will be encouraged to develop the syllabus to their teaching style as long as the course objectives are met. It is expected of all instructors to provide adequate, accurate, and timely feedback to students for assignments and maintain all records relevant to final grade submission.

Skills/Requirements

Masters Degree in related field from an accredited institution

Professional Experience in Discipline

Knowledge of MS Office

Knowledge of APA writing style
