Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager position is a quota bearing sales rep with a focus on selling enterprise-wide WorkForce Management solutions including courseware and Professional Services into new and existing large and complex organizations using SumTotal’s consultative solution selling techniques.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Penetrate new territories and manage to closure existing customer opportunities to build a steady pipeline of business.
  • Identify, call on, and interact with the senior level executives at targeted companies.  Educate these executives about SumTotal solutions within the WFM space.
  • Must produce consistent, accurate activity and sales reporting using the company’s standardized tracking and reporting tools (including salesforce.com) to communicate with senior management and members of the marketing, inside sales and outside sales teams.
  • Keep sales pipeline up-to-date and accurately forecasting future business.
  • Demonstrate and maintain an understanding of the WFM space, in-depth product and service knowledge, and be proficient at coordinating customer interaction, answering customer and prospect questions about the company’s strategy, products (including feature sets), functionality and pricing.
  • Responsible for revenue attainment and territory growth and development.
  • Develop sales strategies and plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Frequent travel is required.




Skills/Requirements

 

  • 5-10+ years of commission sales experience and/or account management required in the software industry, WFM industry preferred
  • Saleforce.com experience a plus
  • Ability to close business and generate bookings
  • Strong customer focus with excellent customer service and business communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Candidate should be a self-starter and take initiative when see a need for action.
  • Must be comfortable demonstrating software and speaking to technical and non-technical executives alike
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and discretion
  • Demonstrated computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook), Internet, and ability to quickly learn new software applications
