The role: Microsoft Exchange Administrator  

As the Microsoft Exchange Administrator in a Resource Forest model you’ll be responsible for high level design, directing project efforts, determining feasibility and time and cost estimation.   You’ll also provide application systems analysis, complex programming and interface development for the largest state government messaging system in NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high level design solutions that conform to the overall system requirements.
  • Primary resource person in converting business requirements and definition to system design specifications.
  • Perform unit tests of system upgrades or modifications to hardware or software for Quality Assurance testing.
  • Serve as level 3 support for client interface by providing solutions or options to client problems and needs.
  • Member of interdepartmental project teams with responsibility for large migration efforts.
  • Provide on-call product support for complex system operational or migration issues.
  • Perform investigation and research for system environments (i.e., reporting systems, switching systems, computer systems, etc.) to assist in resolving complex programming problems or identifying solutions to new business requirements.
  • Ensure completion of project within established timeframes.
  • Provide high level support for ISA, SCOM, SQL and  Blackberry servers.
  • Write Power Shell scripts for all phases of Exchange configuration and bulk imports and updates.
  • Provide high level design, and support for LYNC client configuration.
  • Provide design and support solutions for Exchange 2010 roll out.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years Microsoft Exchange experience (MS Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010).
  • Minimum 6 years Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems experience (Windows 2003 and Windows 2008).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with large enterprise deployment (10K or more users) deployment of MS Exchange.
  • Minimum 4 years of Architectural experience with Win2003/2008, Active Directory.
  • Experience with Outlook, Exchange Backup Technologies and Antivirus.
  • Core understanding of the following:
    • Exchange 2007/2010 and related technologies including windows server 2003/2008 and Active Directory.
    • Microsoft Back Office technologies.
    • RIM Blackberry, Active Sync and other mobile messaging technology.
  • Experience with Exchange 2010 desired and/or Office 365 a plus
  • Project management skills a plus.
  • Migration management experiences a plus.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication, organization and negotiation skills.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
  • MCP/MCSA/MCSE preferred.
  • Experience with Resource Forest Exchange Model is highly desired.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
