Job Description

Position Summary

The Inside Sales/Customer Service Specialist is responsible for contributing to the growth of the business by securing new sales (via cold and warm calls), addressing customer inquiries, improving retention rates, renewing customer contracts and providing superior administrative/clerical support to the team

Objective

To grow the Natural Gas and Electric customer base through customer acquisition and retention (while maintaining NOCO’s reputation of integrity, reliability, and superior customer service)

Major Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent knowledge of our portfolio of products and services in order to understand customers’ needs
  • To answer all inbound calls
  • To assist all customers and respond to their needs in a professional and timely manner
  • To secure new sales via outbound call initiatives
  • To secure new sales during inbound call inquiries
  • Proactively contact customers who are identified as at risk of cancellation and ensure that every opportunity to retain these customers is investigated
  • Follow-up on all customer drops.  Notify respective Energy Consultant, Sales Manager, and Pricing Desk Manager when appropriate.
  • Compile all documents required for renewal proposal
  • To secure and process commercial renewal contracts
  • To prepare and mail out all commercial welcome letters daily
  • To prepare and mail out residential enrollment confirmations
  • To prepare and mail out required giveaways for residential enrollment programs (i.e. gift cards, etc)
  • To establish a relationship with all new customers via welcome letters and calls
  • To build NOCO’s reputation of trust and credibility
  • To work effectively with all NOCO departments
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
  • Reliable and punctual attendance (M-F, 8:30 – 5:30, plus some evenings and weekends as necessary)

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • Minimum 1 year sales experience
