Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks a full-time Receptionist for Registration and Records. 

The Receptionist for Registration and Records is responsible to the Executive Director of Registration and Records for performing the duties of this position and for assisting with overflow work from other areas within the organization as needed and as time permits.  The Receptionist for Registration and Records is responsible for meeting certain college criteria that are considered essential to the success of the college. 

Examples of duties include: Greeting visitors in a friendly manner and providing accurate information and courteous assistance, answering the telephone and registration e-mails, giving accurate information, forwarding calls and e-mails to the proper office and taking messages with accurate and complete information, performing routine word processing and electronic data management tasks.

Prepare reports and documents as requested by the executive director; establish and maintain files as requested by the executive director; duplicate, file, and/or mail office documents as requested by the executive director; use office equipment safely and maintain office equipment in good operating condition; distribute withdrawal forms, transcript requests, and enrollment verifications with brief explanation; notify the executive director immediately of all emergencies or incidents that occur during the executive director’s absence; maintain confidentiality when handling confidential information.

Maintain qualifications for employment as required by the state and college; adhere to the rules and regulations stated in the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and to the policies and procedures of the college; serve on committees as assigned; participate in division and college-wide meetings as appropriate; participate in the college’s staff development program; perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires an individual with excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task.

Preferred Qualifications        

Diploma in Business Administrative Technology, Accounting, or related field preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) strongly preferred.
