Job Description

At Schenck’s Appleton office, a full-time opportunity is open for an Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Payroll Processing group.

The Payroll Administrative Assistant must effectively carry out the essential duties of this position in a way that consistently demonstrates the Schenck Way is a positive manner.

  • Prepares correspondence such as memos, engagement letters and general correspondence
  • Maintains department computer file systems and ensures files and manuals are complete and updated
  • Plans and handles the registration for Payroll Forums
  • Distributes marketing materials
  • Assists with preparation of client billings
  • Handles the printing of quarterly payroll reports and cd’s
  • Generates and prints client activity report by office location; and
  • Maintains staff vacation scheduling.

The individual in this role will serve as the contact person in the department for staff questions and concerns regarding the Time & Billing System; schedules location leader meetings and department meetings and makes necessary arrangements; maintains department calendar; and scanning/printing/publishing as needed.

  • Two years of prior office experience, preferably in a responsible administrative assistant role.
  • One-two year degree in an Administrative Assistant program
  • High level of customer service orientation and human relations skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills, problem-solving ability, accuracy and ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel are needed; Adobe knowledge is preferred along with the ability to work with multiple computer programs.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing procedures is a plus.
