Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

 The TruHome Solutions Business Analyst works as an internal consultant with CommunityAmerica’s mortgage provider (TruHome Solutions) to understand requirements from the business perspective and translate them into a form that can be understood and acted on by an information technology service provider – which in many instances will be CommunityAmerica, but this may not always be the case. The analyst would also be a major assistance in various project implementations of various approved projects.

 Daily expectations are to work with clients and stakeholders, using analytical skills to help identify business issues, communicate business wants/needs in clear manner, and propose solutions that are aligned to strategic goals of the organization. Ways of eliciting information include interviews, focus groups, questionnaires / surveys, swim lanes for as-is/to-be, structured walkthroughs and product evaluation trials.

 

Daily expectations also include assist project manager(s) on implementation of software, vendor management, and coordinating technical resources.       

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Responsible for working directly with CommunityAmerica’s mortgage provider (TruHome Solutions) and various departments in the credit union to help define business requests.
  2. Responsible for taking defined business requests and working with CommunityAmerica’s Information Services organization to understand needs and coordinate services.
  3. Provide necessary information/documentation for projects.
  4. Identify process improvements within and across TruHome Solutions.
  5. Create process documentation that accurately describes the business functions and data.  Documentation should be understood by the business units and utilized by IS to build or buy systems.
  6. Work with testers during QA phases of projects to communicated changes in business and/or systems as well as assist with test scripts.
  7. Assist with approved projects.  Provide timely status to project managers.
  8. Transfer knowledge about the business to consulting services department and the information services division through documentation and other effective mechanisms.  Also promote and create additional positive attributes of the division.
  9. Develop an understanding of TruHome Solutions and CommunityAmerica’s businesses; their products, processes and people and this role in relation to them.
  10. Observe the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with member accounts or personal information and credit union records.
  11. Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  12. Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 





Skills/Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Good working knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Visio (or other mapping software) and MS office suite.
  2. Good working knowledge of financial institutions and especially the mortgage industry.
  3. Strong analysis skills including process mapping, requirements gathering
  4. Ability to coordinate internal and external resources including technical resources
  5. Seeks assistance of others when not able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  6. Must have strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing quality work.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  8. Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  9. Must be able to be bonded.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.  Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach or stand for extended periods of time.  Requires the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other credit union facilities, prospective vendor site visits, or for training purposes.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree with preference for Business, Computer Science or related concentration.  Three or more years experience of relevant Business Analyst/Project Manager.
