This group provides site development, engineering, and construction expertise, integrated services, and fiber optic products. AFL Network Services is seeking experienced  OSPE/GPON/FTTH Engineers for immediate contract work on projects nationwide.  Candidates for these positions can be located anywhere in the continental US and Canada and can work from home.



The OSP Engineer performs all aspects of OSP engineering for copper and fiber projects and will be heavily involved in activities including the following:

  • Development of OSP planning/design documentation, plans and specification assembly
  • Special drawings/plant records, construction management documentation, and any other duties to ensure projects are completed successfully.
  • FTTH or GPON Experience.

The OSP will meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.

The successful candidate must meet a majority of the knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience requirements outlined below.

  • Design, provision, document, and direct Outside Plant Copper and Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried) and manhole and conduit design.
  • Completes designs in accordance to customer specifications and guidelines
  • Ensures the integrity of the customer access network is maintained and provides support for the deployment of access technologies.
  • Update customer records.
  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills who is comfortable in a cross-functional, multi-cultural environment.
  • Good decision making, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Minimum 3 years OSP Engineering experience.
  • Need strong Micro Station experience.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications network design principals and processes.
  • Experience in GPON or Fiber to the Home ( FTTH)
