Job Description

Summary of Job Title: This position involves maintenance of existing and development of new, complex, multi-tier code to satisfy business requirements for a web-based medical content management application. This position requires an extreme attention to detail and the flexibility to work with teams or independently under both broad and specific requirements and specifications. Great problem-solving and communications skills, pride and commitment to quality work, and the ability to manage tasks, time, and deadlines are all essential aspects of this position. Additionally, the ability and desire to learn new skills and improve proficiency and knowledge of existing ones is a must.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Developing code to meet design specifications, using critical thinking and fundamental understanding of needs to drive decision-making
  • Reviewing existing code to understand application function, and updating code to conform to current design standards
  • Helping develop and implement processes and tools for migration of data between systems
  • Working with mentors/team leads to fully understand the design and features
  • Providing accurate level of effort (LOE) estimates based on specifications
  • Analyzing defects discovered by Quality Assurance or other team members and deliver solutions in a timely manner
  • Documenting application design and workflows
  • Working effectively as a team player to accomplish company goals
  • Capable of working independently to accomplish company goals
  • Creativity and latitude are expected
  • Following departmental and company policies
Skills/Requirements

Qualifications:   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server
  • Proficient in SQL with ability to demonstrate knowledge of various database models/tools (e.g. normalization, stored procedures, and user-defined functions)
  • Proficient in C#
  • Proficient in JavaScript
  • Extensive knowledge of ASP.NET, with experience with MVC 3 a plus
  • Advanced working knowledge of XML and JSON
  • Extensive knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Programming
  • Expertise using debugging tools to analyze software defects, performance, and impact of changes
  • Familiarity with version control software
  • Knowledge of SDLC and other industry-standard development practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical and troubleshooting skills

 

Education and/or Experience or both:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree with equivalent experience is required
  • 3-5 years of experience working with SQL is required
  • 3-5 years of experience working with C# ASP.NET is required
  • 2-3 years of experience working with JavaScript is required
  • Experience developing multi-tier web-based enterprise software is preferred
  • Experience in medical settings, with medical software, and/or medical terminology is preferred
