Job Description

  For over 30 years, Vein Clinics of America (VCA) has been dedicated to the treatment of all aspects of Varicose Vein Disease.  Acknowledged as experts in the field, VCA has helped lead advances in the treatment of VVD.  And with over 50 clinics in 15 states, VCA is growing.  We are currently seeking a National Sales Director to work collaboratively with the Marketing and Sales Department.

The National Sales Director’s primary responsibility is to manage and lead the sales/local promotional teams to achieve or exceed patient acquisition objectives within local markets.  The National Sales Director will develop marketing strategies and training initiatives for VCA's Sales Managers, Medical Liaisons and Local Marketing Managers.

In this pivotal role, the National Sales Director creates implements and communicates plans and vision for his/her sales team, and monitors progress towards the plans and vision.  The National Sales Director provides direction, motivation, coaching, skill development, product knowledge, industry knowledge, competitive knowledge, performance management, and company knowledge. 

The National Sales Director maintains fiscal responsibility of sales team and complete each year within assigned budget while achieving sales goals.  Further, the National Sales Director will maintain a diverse and motivated sales team using the appropriate recruitment and employee relations policies. Reporting to and working closely with Regional Vice President(s) of Operations to develop regional business plans that will meet or exceed brand objectives.

TASKS

  • Deliver business results through alignment with brand strategies 
  • Develop and utilize KPI’s to track and monitor business results.
  • Analyze sales and operations data to monitor sales progress and develop plans to improve sales force effectiveness/efficiency
  • Analyze financial metrics of sales organization effectiveness, including budgeting, allocation/deployment of resources, return on investment strategies, etc. 
  • Create a high performance work environment in which accountability is built at all levels in the organization through empowerment, involvement and collaboration
  • Manage the administrative, financial, and reporting details of the sales team
  • Provide monthly forecasts
  • Collaborate with brand team and critical business partners to develop and execute national sales strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrate a firm grasp of industry trends and understand market conditions to devise strategies to stay ahead of the competition; capitalize on opportunities
  • Work with brand team and strategic partners to develop a plan of action that optimizes promotional impact and takes advantage of current and future market opportunities
  • Translate brand strategies into actionable tactics for the sales force and develop standards across regions to measure success
  • Develop, measure, and refine local sales call plans and local promotional plans to achieve targeted objectives
  • Develop and implement all necessary initial and on-going training
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop, communicate and administer sales forecasts and sales incentive plan
  • Drive mastery of requisite skills and competencies of the sales organization by through sales training.
  • Provide leadership for field management to ensure the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse pool of talent at all levels
  • Ensure field force has completed appropriate training to ensure compliance to VCA standards

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Skills/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or other healthcare industry is required
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to interpret key sales, spending and market trends data, as well as create analysis related to sales performance, etc.
  • Expertise in healthcare industry and an understanding of key stakeholders in the healthcare environment is required.  Retail-based healthcare service provider experience is preferred.
  • Significant experience in driving growth and profitability, strategic planning, development and coaching, finance and budgets, technical and industry knowledge, business analytics, cross functional partnerships, customer management, negotiation, prioritization, efficiency, productivity and deployment is required.
  • Significant experience managing managers and professionals, preferably retail-based healthcare service lines and similar settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence with or without authority is required.
  • Travel Required
