Job Description

Availability requirements - Monday-Friday & Saturday shifts.

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides professional, prompt, financial service to all members and potential members in a sales and service culture. Continually educates members on credit union products and services in relation to the members’ needs. Ensures a high focus on building and enhancing member relationships. 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Responsible for delivering a high level of member service at the teller line.
  2. Processes cash/check transactions at the window, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks and money orders.  Prove cash at the end of the day.
  3. Performs financial transactions in an efficient and accurate manner by providing accurate account information using account security procedures and recognizing account flags.
  4. Provides information concerning credit union services and policies and cross-sells appropriate services.
  5. Maintains a working knowledge of endorsement requirements and credit union policies regarding the acceptance of checks.
  6. Assists as needed with facilitating member loan requests and with the daily opening and closing procedures.
  7. Serves as a resource to all Retail Branch Associates as needed.
  8. Assists in meeting and exceeding individual, team and credit union goals.
  9. Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  10. Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  11. Works with other credit union departments to insure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members. 
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.




Skills/Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of credit union services and products.
  2. Good general math skills.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  4. Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  5. Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  6. Must be able to be bonded.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time. Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other credit union facilities or for training purposes.
