Job Description

SUPERVISES:

Branch staff of up to six employees (FRS’s and perhaps an Assistant Manager).

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

This position will be responsible for the growth and operation of an instore branch sales and servicing team.  This position will lead staff in reaching their individual, team and credit union goals through effective one-on-one coaching and team meetings. (Performance Pyramid focus:  Goal Setting, Reskilling and staff check-ins.) Additionally, this position is responsible for providing effective post-sales service to our members with their inquiries, teller transactions, and other questions taking place within the branch.  Insures that proper policies, guidelines and procedures are in place to meet the strategic goals of the branch, mitigating fraud and ensuring fiscal responsibility for the Credit Union.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Leads a staff, through quality hiring, training, goal setting, coaching, evaluating, promoting, compensating and disciplining, capable of accomplishing goals and objectives of a branch team.
  2. Responsible for overall branch market penetration through member acquisition, relationship expansion and retention for assigned branch market.  This would include ensuring staff skills and performance around member conversations, follow-up calls and member ownership and outreach in accordance with Advanced Playbook training and Performance Pyramids.
  3. Insures that aisle time and PA’s are conducted on a scheduled basis.  (Where permitted.) Also insures that ‘fresh’ marketing promotions are conducted in branch.
  4. Assists in the community relations and business development of the branch.
  5. Responsible for the daily operations of the branch, mitigating fraud and ensure procedures are followed.
  6. Develops and supports a strong sales and service culture throughout the credit union.
  7. Responsible for delivering a high level of service to members.
  8. Manages appropriate branch utilization of resources.
  9. Establishes relationships with members to determine their financial needs and provide the necessary credit union products.
  10. Stays abreast of local competition and promotions.
  11. Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  12. Promotes and supports the branding image of the credit union.
  13. Participates in the development and implementation of the branch’s and the credit union’s strategic plans.
  14. Demonstrates professional behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

 





Skills/Requirements

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of sales and service techniques and instore branch management.
  2. Knowledge of credit union services and products.
  3. Knowledge and ability to supervise and effectively lead staff.
  4. Excellent member service skills.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  6. Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  7. Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  8. Must be able to be bonded.

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.  Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach or stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other credit union facilities or for training purposes.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in business administration, marketing, sales or a related field and/or up to three years branch management experience or three or more years experience in a financial institution or retail sales position in a management role will substitute for degree.
