Job Description

The Data Entry/Front Office Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Inputting data into EMR, patient record.
  • Verify insurance eligibility
  • Enter demographics and insurance information for all patients
  • Chart prep
  • Request records and referrals for upcoming appointments
  • Attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Cross train and learn front desk duties.
  • Must have general computer knowledge as well as good typing skills for data entry purposes.
  • Smile and treat all patients, family members and caregivers in courteous, friendly, professional manner
Skills/Requirements
  • Must have 1 year office experience in a medical environment
  • Must be able to type at least 40WPM.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be familiar with insurance cards and strong medical terminology.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have experience with PC- based business applications software such as Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Proper English grammar, usage, spelling, and punctuation; modern business office procedures, including filing systems, business correspondence, and telephone techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machines, calculators scanners, and shredders.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. Ability to work on feet during scheduled work hours.
