Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Patient Services is the day-to-day contact for our patient services and reimbursement vendor and functions as a subject matter expert on reimbursement services including; reimbursement hotline, patient assistance program and co-pay assistance program. This position collaborates cross functionally with brand teams to build and drive strategies as they pertain to reimbursement/patient services and is an active participant in the strategic market access direction.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

The Manager will assume leadership responsibilities for the following activities:
• Lead member of patient services team assigned to design, implement and evaluate the Ipsen Service Model (reimbursement hotline, patient assistance program and co-pay assistance program).
• Manage ongoing operations of the service model executed through our reimbursement partner.
• Assist in defining the vision and strategy to enhance reimbursement/patient service offerings for Ipsen’s US product portfolio
• Develop reporting and data needs and partner with analytics to deliver to brand teams at regular intervals
• Partner with brand teams to deliver strategic and tactical patient/reimbursement service offerings including but not limited to: Product value proposition development, Label expansion opportunities, and value added programs
• Act as the patient services expert on long and short term strategic brand planning
• Partner with brand teams to drive patient service offerings through patient advocacy organizations

Vendor management may include:

• Trouble shoot issues and recommend areas of improvements.
• Identification of program efficiencies and enhancements.
• Regular site visits to maintain a close relationship with the vendor.
• Measure and interpret data and KPIs of vendors. Support on-going initiatives and offer insights to enhance program and increase operational effectiveness.
• Ensure vendor partners have a strong knowledge of brand visions and goals
• Manage contract negotiations

Education, Experience & Training Required

Experience and Education (minimums)

• BA/BS in associated field required. MBA Preferred.
• 7+ years of pharmaceutical reimbursement experience and/or product marketing experience
• Experience managing vendors and getting results and reports from outsourcing partners
• Knowledge and experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer policies, reimbursement process, health policy, areas of coverage, payment, coding, Specialty Pharmacy, and buy and bill
• Experience reviewing clinical literature, including disease state information and target product profiles, to develop submissions for payer engagement.
• Experience in patient focused programs within associated HIPAA regulations and other legal parameters and patient privacy policies

Essential Functions – Physical Position Requirements: Machines and/or Equipment Used

-PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.)
-Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
-Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
-Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
-Close vision required for computer usage.
-Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds.


Working Conditions
Work independent

Standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions.  Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.
