Job Description

Summary: The A & D Project Manager directs and supervises a team of full-time and temporary employees and possible sub-contractors, in the fulfillment of an A&D contract.  The Manager is in constant contact with the customer to ensure that the contract specifications are being met and that personnel under his/her direction are meeting service requirements. This manager can be located in Dayton, Columbus or Cincinnati.

Project Management:

Responsible for overseeing projects/assignments for container services and meeting all contract requirements:

  • Manages Drivers/Recorders, temporary staff and sub-contractors while on projects/assignments
  • Assess staffing needs, training, and development
  • Handle discipline and other employee problems or issues
  • Trash cart assembly, repair, cart delivery/removal, and cleaning as necessary to support yard staff
  • Supervises the completion of projects/assignments
  • Cost management/control on project costs vs. contract budget
  • Responsible for following Otto safety rules at all times and customer safety rules while on their site
  • Must ensure proper safety equipment is provided and used by crews while on the project

Customer Service:

  • Communicating with the customer on issues concerning the project/assignment
  • Resolving customer issues
  • Developing good customer relations
  • Respond to customer inquiries


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

  • Ability to lead full-time, temporary staff and sub-contractors on project assignments
  • Must have a valid Class D driver’s license, a safe driving record, and must be able to drive a truck with a manual transmission
  • Able to read, interpret and follow road maps
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and small power equipment
  •  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be willing to travel nationwide up to 70% of the time
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate financial and productivity reports
  • Must be able to meet D.O.T. requirements, one of which is passing a drug screen


  • High School Diploma required
  • Additional education a plus
