Job Description


This position is responsible for aspects of network administration including servers, backups, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems. Systems administration includes backups, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, office systems and applications support. Supports servers, desktops, and applications and some Citrix and Terminal Services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Provide support, build, and implement server systems across the enterprise; includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all servers and maintenance, associated software; troubleshoot server and application performance issues.
  • Maintain documentation for network servers and services.
  • Investigate server problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
  • Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
  • Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize server availability.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate patching of: Windows, SQL Server, Citrix and e-MDs software
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with other departments such the Software Support, QA teams and the other business units.
  • Responsible for communicating the status of projects or tasks to the client and manager.
  • Responsible for documenting client specific solutions as well as critical processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Responsible for documenting and adhering to the various management policies, and will be required to provide input into those policies.

  • Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server operating system, Microsoft Active Directory 2003/2008, and advanced TCP/IP and networking concepts.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications.
  • Advance experience with Vmware Virtualization.
  • Candidate should be able to work as part of a team, as well as be able to perform duty assignments with limited direction.
  • Ability to administer a 200+ node network including firewall and VPN’s
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Advance working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server 2005 and later versions.
  • Experience with network cabling installation and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Citrix, Windows, Cisco, IIS and TCP/IP required.
  • Experience with Citrix Xen App Infrastructure and Technologies..
  • Experience and hands on knowledge with installing, publishing and testing applications on a Global Citrix Farm.
  • Experience with Citrix Web Interface, Citrix Security Gateway, Citrix Zones, & Citrix Secure Ticket Authority Technologies.
  • Experience with of Citrix Infrastructure Design and the changes required during upgrades.
  • Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory objects, and Group Policies.
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft SQL Server databases.
    Basic routing and switching network experience.
  • Experience with blade servers, SANtechnologies a definite advantage
