Job Description

Kaplow Communications, Consumer PR Agency of the Year, 2011 The Holmes Report, is looking

for a Video Editor to work in our New York City offices as part of our K Studio, our content

creation and distribution center.

  • Ideal candidate will be a recent film school graduate or have a few years of experience as a video editor
  • Extensive experience editing on finishing tools such like Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.Experience in all aspects of the creative development process (studio experience in various roles such as production assistant, researcher, line producer are a plus).
  • Use 3D animation software as needed (creation of 3D and motion graphics).
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies such as video effects, software plug-ins and video hardware.
  • Ability to work within a fast environment where quick turn-around of video projects will be the norm.
  • Experience and a comfort level working with high-profile talent.
  • A flexible schedule to work on video projects at varied hours of the day or evening.
  • Willingness to work on weekends as needed.
  • Must be collaborative and work well in a team environment.
  • Candidate must have a portfolio reel of past and current work.


 

Job Description

  • Attend brainstorms, assist in story-boarding process, review scriptsto become familiar with production concepts and requirements and offer feedback from a post-production stand-point to increase dramatic or entertainment value of productions.
  • Edit videos that will be used for traditional media pitching, posting across client’s social media platforms and distribution to websites and blogs.
  • While working with the script determine the specific audio, visual effects and music (piecing sounds together to develop soundtracks) necessary in order to form a logical and smoothly running story.
  • Record needed sounds, or obtain them from sound effects libraries.
  • Create chyrons, slates, graphics
  • Quickly and creatively solve post-production problems.
  • Convert audio and visual formats as needed.
  • Ensure all aspects of video production are completed accurately and on time.
