Job Description

 

The Business Banking Credit Analyst I is responsible for underwriting and evaluating small business loan requests from new and existing customers.  Underwriting will include financial and credit risk analyses with a concentration on cash flow, collateral evaluation and LiquidCredit® Decision Manager SBSS 6.0 lending model.

 

 

Skills/Requirements

 

  • Enter data from application, financial statements, and credit bureau reports into SBSS 6.0 model to retrieve business score, which will be used as a component of each underwriting decision. (daily)
  • Spread and analyze corporate and individual financial statements and tax returns. (daily)
  • Underwrite new, renewal and reviews of commercial loans and non-loan credit exposure to small businesses within 48 hours from receipt of complete credit package.  (daily)
  • Ensure compliance with Loan Policy, Lending Guidelines and banking laws and regulations. (daily)
  • Respond to inquiries from business unit associates and assist with clearing conditions set forth on approval recommendations.  (daily)
  • Ensure credit related follow-up items are in the appropriate monitoring systems. (daily)
  • Assist Portfolio Managers and Business Banking Specialists with ongoing monitoring of the loan portfolio. (weekly / monthly)
  • Assist with underwriting of consumer loans, mortgages and home equity lines of credit on an as needed basis. (monthly)
  • Conduct post-credit decision validation. (quarterly)
  • Assist with special projects and management reports. (monthly)
  • Strong mathematcial and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principle and ability to read a financial statement.
  • Works well under direct or indirect supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal commuincation skills with thea bility to commincate well with internal and external customers.
  • Abiltiy to prioritize and multi-task in a high volume environment.
  • Strong orgnaizational skills, detail oriented, efficient and ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •         Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university is required.
