Position is primarily responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the Dining Services Department according to departmental standards.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

1. Collects and empties trash and garbage into appropriate receptacles outside of the facility.
2. Cleans and sanitizes trash containers in accordance with department guidelines.
3. Sweeps, mops and hoses kitchen areas regularly or as needed.
4. Collects and disposes of used kitchen grease according to proper handling procedures.
5. Breaks down boxes for recycling and places in proper area as needed.
6. Performs detailed cleaning to maintain departmental sanitation standards.
7. Supports other kitchen functions as needed, including dish machine, food storage and meal service.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

1. Previous food service experience preferred.
2. Excellent customer services skills required.
3.  Must have ability to effectively communicate in English, including reading and writing.
4. Must demonstrate compassion when interacting with others, including co-workers, customers and visitors.
5. Must be able to work as a team player.
