Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for contract scheduling and the issuing of work orders.

In addition, this position is also responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels and monitoring contract progress for the PHE (Plate Heat Exchanger) business unit, reviewing raw material requirements, promising sales orders, reviewing, identifying and correcting MRP exceptions and handling sales expedites.

The successful candidate will work on the production floor and in the general office on a daily basis. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the SBA Supervisor to schedule and plan a consistent flow of goods to the SBA assembly floor, maximizing throughput and delivery performance to the end customer.
  2. Review shortage report daily for action items and to assure an on-time supply for production planning as well as meet customer delivery, quality and price requirements.
  3. Reviews existing work order exceptions and then correct, expedite, de-expedite to bring production in line with customer requirements.
  4. Selects parts for work order creation (at top and lower levels) based on material availability, labor and plant capacity.
  5. Monitors inventory and completes all necessary transactions on work orders, keeping inventory levels accurate and in-balance.
  6. Additional responsibilities
    1. Provide required communication to Sales, Engineering and Purchasing regarding inventory or technical issues.
    2. Provide department management support and assistance in communicating department targets and results.
    3. Fills in for SBA Supervisor during his absence for directing daily activities.
    4. Assists with activities related to physical inventory.
    5. Other duties as required by the SBA Supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  1. Associates degree in a technical or business field or equivalent experience/training required.
  2. 3 years experience in production planning and inventory management in a manufacturing environment, required.
  3. General knowledge of manufacturing environment/order flow required.
  4. At least 3 years experience working with an MRP system required; 5 years preferred.
  5. Strong working knowledge of Excel and Gantt Charts strongly preferred.
