Job Description

We have an exciting, unique opportunity for an internship in our Finance Department located in Morristown, NJ.  In this role you will interact with the Finance Team including senior executives and Finance and Accounting leads spanning all areas of the department.  Become part of a talented team, building core financial and business skills while gaining exposure to the dynamic pharmaceutical industry.  The Finance Controller Internwill support on-going projects in alignment with the 2013 Finance objectives. 

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about his /her work, will enjoy working closely with other members of the organization to contribute to the success of Capsugel, will utilize technology resources productively, and will be able to work on a wide range of tasks.  

2013 initiatives include, but are not limited to:

  • Exposure to the monthly book close/consolidation process 
  • Assist in many of the monthly tasks as well as learn about the quarterly external reporting process 
  • Input journal entries into both ECC and SAP
  • Organize all monthly journal entries
  • Organize monthly reconciliations
  • Perform monthly reconciliations
  • Evaluate monthly BPC journal entries to determine if they need to be booked again
  • Communicate monthly BPC journal entries to entities

Reference work papers on second quarter external financials 

Skills/Requirements

Qualified candidates must have the following skills and attributes: 

  • Must be a minimum of a rising junior studying Finance with a concentration in accounting.
  • A thinker with solid analytical skills, high-energy, and can-do attitude
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written and a strong command of the English language.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate projects
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities simultaneously and take responsibilities seriously
  • Excellent presentation and prioritization skills; some experience presenting to senior leaders (or professors)
  • High level of professionalism to interact with internal clients and external parties
  • Must have a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with confidential matters
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Local candidates preferred (<<1 hour commute)  

This is a paid 10 week internship.  It is expected that the candidate would work full time from beginning May 29th
