As a Sr. Continuous Integration Engineer, you will improve the speed, efficiency and scalability of our build and test systems and improve our overall deployment. Lead and develop infrastructure and process for continuous integration that will be employed in all functional areas: Development, QA and Operations. Position should strive to achieve deployments that take 30 minutes or less. Bring additional structure and discipline to our unit testing and QA automation testing efforts to support the continuous integration infrastructure.   

In this role, you will:

  • Build deployment automation tools to support continuous integration and version control processes. Ensure the movement of application code seamlessly from source control through deployment to production. The expectation is to create a reliable, repeatable, automated (and auditable) process.
  • Providing control and oversight of an organized and efficient continuous integration environment for the implementation team members to utilize.
  • Work with implementation engineers to prepare and align their applications for builds. Work with automation test engineers and development engineers to align testing efforts with the continuous integration goals.  
  • Educate and lead the Go Daddy Continuous Integration (CI) initiative by knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring other business units as well as assist in hiring additional CI resources. 

Do you have what it takes?

  • 5 + years of experience in the Continuous Integration discipline
  • Four year college degree in technology related field or equivalent experience is required.
  •  RHCE preferred
  • Version control expertise.
  • 2+ years of experience with both Java and .NET programming.
  • Hands on extensive knowledge in build tool and automation languages such as: Chef, Puppet, Capistrano, Jenkins, Hudson, Make, Maven, Ant, Bourne Shell, Perl, Maven, Visual Studio Team System. Broad technology experiences across a variety of languages and environments
  • Knowledge of various version control tools, knowledge in platform and build infrastructure tools: VMWare, TeamCity, Nexus, SVN, ClearCase, ClearQuest, ElectricCloud, Virtual machine experience with VMWare or Virtual Box and related technologies such as Vagrant.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to excel within an "agile" environment (i.e. user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, shared ownership, test-driven development, etc.)  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
