Title: PHP Web Developer - Contractor
Reports to: Director of IT

Job Summary
As a web developer, your focus will be on designing, developing, and testing ecommerce solutions and other custom
application development projects using Magento and the LAMP stack.
 
Essential Job Functions
o Manage small to medium software development projects without assistance.
o Develop time estimates for project deliverables.
o Maintain and enhance existing systems.
o Provide after-hours support of systems.
o Participate in solution design, concept visualization, and requirements definition.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Minimum of three years of experience with the full LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
Experience with PHP MVC frameworks, preferably Zend Framework.
Experience with e-commerce solutions, preferably Magento.
Must be self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills.
Able to solicit requirements through conversations with non-technical customers.
Ability to translate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming.
HTML, XML, JSON, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS.
Experience developing cross-browser web applications.
General understanding of web and networking protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, SOAP, etc.)
 
Pluses
Agile development experience.
Source control experience, preferably Git.
Integrating CRMs and ERPs into applications.
DB2 databases.
Unit testing, preferably PHPUnit.
REST API development.
Third-party controls.
Experience with C# or RPG.
